Symptoms

In early disease there may be no symptoms hence it is advisable to have regular cervical cancer screening. When symptoms are present they may include:

  1. Unusual vaginal bleeding, for example irregular vaginal bleeding, heavy irregular menses or bleeding after sex.
  2. Abnormal vaginal discharge: blood-stained or foul smelling discharge.
  3. Pain or discomfort during sex
  4. Pain in  the area between the hip bones(pelvis)
  5. Later in advanced stages it can affect other organs like the bladder  and rectum causing constipation and blood in urine
